Litchfield is a great residential community, situated between Manchester and Nashua. It has deep agricultural roots, with several farm stands and pick your own farms.
I think McQuesten Farm has always been my favorite. When my son was very young, I lived in Nashua and used to bring him to the farm to feed the animals. After he was done feeding the goats and ducks, we would get some fresh fruits and veggies. My son is now almost 18 years old. He’s long beyond the petting farm experience (he stayed in the truck with my husband while I took my animal shots), but it brought back great memories for me…
The goats were having great fun climbing all over the Kubota.
I love their historic library…
And the Litchfield Presbyterian Church is quite pretty…

I will be out of the country for the next two weeks. My husband and I are going on a long awaited cruise in the Mediterranean. I will be back to posting NH on May 20th, see you then!
Laura, love your duck shots! I hope you have a wonderful vacation and can’t wait to see your “Touring the Mediterranean” post. Enjoy!
I’m thinking of adding another page to the blog so I can share pictures from the cruise. We are starting in Barcelona, then we are off to Marseilles, Florence, Rome, Split and ending in Venice. We are going to stay a few extra days in Venice before we return home. We’ve been looking forward to this for over a year!!
I’ve never been to Litchfield but I never really realized it until I read your post. Have a great trip!
I just came across your blog and decided to search “Litchfield”, my hometown for the first 18 years of my life. It’s so small that I didn’t think anyone ever visited! Your pictures make me see the beauty again in my former tiny town 🙂 And certainly, what a quaint place to grow up! I have many memories of feeding the animals at McQuesten farm with my mother as well. Thank you for posting!
