Milan

When I first started asking around for things to see and do in Milan, the response I got was begin by pronouncing the name correctly – Mile-un because mi-LAN is in Italy. OK , so now that I got that straightened out.

It quickly became apparent to me that relaxation seems to be the name of the game in Milan.

Of course, not all of the views are waterfront…

My husband was driving the motorhome when we came to this bridge. I got out and watched closely as he drove under it. Waldo is 12’6″ and the sign says that the clearance is 13′, but you never know for sure. This dump truck had a lot more clearance than Waldo did!

I spent some time wandering around an empty farmhouse.

I was driving by Milan’s largest employer (Milan Lumber Company) and stopped to watch the trucks being unloaded for a bit…

This one I’ve heard of but I’ve never been there. It’s a beautiful place. The empty house looks to be in good shape. Someone might be able to buy it for a song.

Milan was such a relaxing place. The farmhouse might be a great project for someone!

What? No visit to Milan Hill State Park? You missed a wonderful 360 degree of Milan and the whole North Country.

I had saved the state park for the last day I was there and it ended up raining. Everyone I talked to said that it would be a great place to visit. Hopefully next time I am in the area I can do a revisited post!
