Situated between New Hampshire’s two largest cities, Merrimack has plenty to offer residents and visitors. I visited several of the area parks, starting near Naticook Lake. The fall colors are still hanging on for us to enjoy…
I think my favorite park in Merrimack is Twin Bridge Park. There is an awesome wooden playground for the kids and plenty of well marked hiking trails. I used to bring my son to this park many years ago…
Merrimack is probably most well known for being home to Anheuser Busch. They offer free brewery tours and are home to the world famous Clydesdale horses. I didn’t tour the brewery on this trip, but I have in the past. Instead I went to visit the Clydesdales.
I like how the foliage seems to be working its way down from the top of this tree…
When I pulled into the parking area, I saw the impressive coaches used to transport the horses. I had seen an episode of Mega RV several months ago which featured the St. Louis coaches. They certainly get to travel in style…
When they aren’t on the road, they live in comfort too…
Without someone standing next to them, it is hard to give a sense of how tall they are.
So, the next time you are traveling through southern New Hampshire, take time to stop in Merrimack. Visit their many parks or take a brewery tour, you’ll be glad you did!
I really enjoy your tours!!!

Thank you. I’ve really been enjoying it!
Wow! The water was really raging after our recent rains! Great shots and I love the tour of the beautiful barn. Not being a beer drinker, I have never visited but now I want to go and see the horses and their stable.

The stables are amazing! And you can’t beat the price to visit – free. Yes, the recently rains really had the river moving.
Would love to be at Twin Bridge Park today if the colors are still that pretty! But I’d also love to see the Clydesdales!!!

Twin Bridge park and Anheuser Busch are only about 10 minutes apart, definitely doable in one afternoon. My pictures from the park are from yesterday, so the color is still that pretty!
Merrimack’s my home. I love it when visitors have the time to see the parks & off-the-main-road places I love so much. I’m glad you stopped by!
Thank you Ellen. Merrimack is a wonderful town!
Merrimack has always been another drive through town for me but I’d sure like to go back and visit that park.

You would love Twin Bridge Park!
Those stables look more luxurious than my house and what beautiful horses.

Yes, the Clydesdales have a very good life!
Beautiful photos Laura, particularly the stream shots. I’ve seen the Clydesdales a couple of times (in FL), and they are huge. BTW, I suspect that most of these lovely scenes are considerably whiter by now. Have a Happy and Warm Thanksgiving. ~James
Funny you should mention whiter, in a few hours I’ll be driving by the exit to SSI. We are bringing the RV to my dad’s in FL. We left NH just before Mother Nature dumped 16″ of snow on our house! When i drive down in January perhaps I’ll be able to stop and visit. Have a great Thanksgiving.
Happy New Year, Laura! Your site has been a bit quiet of late, so I hope that all is well with you and your family. Wishing you a new year filled with love and adventure! Thanks for all your great comments on the blog – we always look forward them. 🙂 All the best, Terri
