There is just so much to see in Wilton! I’ve photographed in Wilton many times over the past several year and I decided to include some of my older photos in the post.
Last week, I visited Wilton no less than 3 times and I know I still didn’t capture all there is to see. One day I hiked (I use that word very loosely, truth be told, I walked into the woods on the snowmobile trail for about 10 minutes) to Garwin Falls and the dam on the Old Wilton Reservoir. The gates on the dam have been left open to drain the reservoir, but the result is some really neat pictures looking through the dam as well as ice formations on the dam…
I love downtown Wilton, there is so much history to be seen and explored. I didn’t include all of the historic building, but here is a sample of downtown…
There are so many beautiful barns in Wilton…
And the folks in Wilton are definitely creative…
I have passed by this bridge for years and finally stopped to get a shot of it…
I love the red buildings at Monadnock Mountain Spring Water…
When I get sick of winter, which I do every year about this time, I meander through The House by the Side of the Road for a breath of spring…
June is a great time to drive through Wilton to catch the mountain laurel in bloom…
And no visit to Wilton is complete without stopping by Frye’s Measure Mill
There are many gorgeous houses in Wilton…
And many with views to match…
No matter the time of year, or your idea of beauty, Wilton is a must do!

Really lovely shots, Laura. I love the barns.
Thank you Martha! I could do an entire post just about the beautiful barn I found in Wilton!
This is the town I was born and raised and such a lovely area to come back You do such a wonderful job and your photography is exquisite.
Thank you Jean. It is such a lovely town! So many really neat places to visit there!
Love your photography — like the close-up of the nest or the view from the mirror. What fun to see through your eyes. Also, thanks for the map idea. I don’t know how to make that, but you’ve inspired me to try. Thanks for following Oh, the Places We See. Glad to have you in the family!
I’ve tried several different versions of maps since I started the blog. Google maps was the easiest to use, but they keep “improving” it and not always for the better. Good luck if you decide to add mapping.
