Here we are once again, the end of December. What a year it has been. I thought I’d jump on the “year in Review” bandwagon. I searched through this years posts and picked my favorite image from each town.
My year began a tour of Henniker in January…
In mid-January I left for an extended stay in Waldo with my dad. We spent almost 2 months in the Sonoran Desert. It was a truly an awesome adventure.
While I was away, Steve stayed busy with the shovel and plow, snow storm after snow storm pelted our Peterborough home. I have to be honest, I didn’t miss the snow AT ALL. Arizona was the final trip for Toad, too many New Hampshire winter’s had finally caught up to it and I parked my poor Jeep for the last time.
I didn’t get back to touring New Hampshire until April. I kicked off my return with a trip to Hopkinton…
I really was off to a slow start this year. I didn’t notice at the time, but my first three towns this year all started with the letter H. May found me in the beautiful town of Holderness…
By June, I was finally back in the swing of things with weekly adventures and posts. I toured Groton, Danbury, Alexandria, Grafton and finally Dorchester…
I kept at it in July. I introduced Trouble, my newest Jeep and visited Freedom, Hill, Orange and Sandwich…

The view from the parking area
August found me in Rumney, Canaan, Ellsworth, Warren and Wentworth…
After quite a few weekly adventures, September brought a slow down in my touring. I did get to visit Franklin, New Boston and Goffstown…
In October, I got to cross something off my “must do” in New Hampshire list. Steve and I took the Cog Railway to the top of Mount Washington. And before I left to visit my dad in Florida, I toured Plainfield…
I spent almost the entire month of November dealing with the aftermath of a house flood. I didn’t get any touring done, but I did finish my online store.
I am getting back on track in December. This month I published one of my most popular posts ever, Londonderry. And I ended this year with a visit to the town of Bow…
My most sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you! Your comments, likes and shares help keep me motivated. This is my 127th post! There have been a few posts which were not about touring New Hampshire, but I have now visited about 120 towns. I still have a ways to go and can’t wait to take you along. Wishing everyone all the best in 2016.
I like the idea of picking a photo from each place. I really like both the waterfall shots, but the covered bridge and rails has excellent composition. Have a great 2016!
Thanks Jeff. I hope 2016 brings nothing but the best to you and yours!
I never knew there were so many towns in this state!
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to spend every winter somewhere other than here? It’s a dream of mine, for sure.
Not too long before the dream is a reality for us. I’m counting down until we move into Walso fulltime. The rule will be, we won’t stay in any place where the temperature is less than my age!
You’ve kept up an amazing schedule and highlighted some of my favorite shots. Can’t believe we didn’t get to tour together this year but we did have a kayak or two. All the best for 2016 Laura, you are creating an amazing view of our state.
Thank you Martha. We will have to carve out some touring time in 2016! Hoping 2016 brings all you deserve and more!
What a wonderful gallery! I think I like the one with your Dad the very best although those colorful kayaks made me grin from ear to ear. Wishing you much happiness in 2016!
Thank you. I really love the picture with my dad. Sometimes the best scenery is who you are sharing it with.
What a marvelous roundup, Laura. You had an incredible year. I knew you were in the Sonoran desert, but I didn’t realize it was 2 months. Wonderful. And I’m so sorry that Toad drove his last miles – how old was he? Thanks to you and your blog I almost feel like I’ve spent months, no years, in NH. 🙂 How many more towns do you have to go? Happy New Year to you and Steve, may 2016 bring you no more house floods. ~Terri
Trouble has done an great job of filling Toad’s shoes (Toad was almost 18 years old). Trouble even has a winch for when I get into a bad spot (a.k.a. Trouble, lol). I am really missing the desert weather right now. It is all of 19 degrees today.I still have over 130 towns to visit, but with wonderful followers and fellow adventurers keeping up the encouragement I should be able to complete NH in another 2 1/2 years. Thanks for being such a great friend.
Totally my pleasure, Laura. So what’s the current countdown for heading out in the RV? ~T
Funny you should ask 1213 days. I have a surprise for you in my next post!
Cool! Can’t wait! 🙂 ~T
